American Embassy will be closed on Monday

October 6, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The US Embassy and Consulate in Costa Rica will be closed next Monday, October 10th, due to an American national holiday.

On October 12th, 1997, US President Richard Nixon declared the second Monday of October as a national holiday.

That day pays tribute to Christopher Columbus, who first came to America on October 12th, 1492.

The US Embassy activities will resume normally on October 11th from 8 a.m to 4:30 p.m.
