Ex Judge pretended to be dead to save his life

October 7, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Judge Álvaro Fernández Silva’s former maid’s daughter, along with two accomplices, tricked him and made him believe that she needed legal help in a case of domestic violence.

However, the girl’s true intention, surnamed Arroyo, was to attack him and rob Fernández Silva’s home, located in Poás Alajuela.

Since the victim has met Arroyo before, he opened the door for her and the two men. However, at some point, they took advantage of him and attacked him.

After several minutes of conversation with them, the Judge decided to go to his room to look for a presentation card to give it to her, but after hir return, one of the suspects took out a gun and hit him in the head and the judge fell on the ground,”

informed the Public Ministry, through an email.

The other 2 suspects are named Oviedo Campos and Aragón Rubí. One of them pulled out a knife and stabbed Fernández 14 times.

The victim, realizing that they were going to shoot, pretended to be dead, so apparently the suspects left him on the floor and took the opportunity to steal a TV, a collection of 12 watches and a collection of five pens,”

added the report.

The suspects were arrested in the raids in Grecia and Tacacorí of Alajuela. The criminal court issued three months of preventive detention.
