October 11, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Life Sciences Forum, organized by the Coalition for Development Initiatives (CINDE), started on October 10th with the participation of about 400 entrepreneurs and foreign and domestic assistants related to the life sciences.

The event was inaugurated by Vice President of the Republic Ana Helena Chacón, who expressed that such events are important because they allow innovative exchanges and they generate greater added value to domestic products.

Vice Minister of Foreign Trade John Fonseca explained that this sector is growing with a great strength and as proof of it, there are exports of medical devices that exceeded 2 billion dollars in 2015, making them the main exported products.

The sector employs more than 19,000 people in 60 consolidated companies in the country,

stated Fonseca.
