Who is “Ojos bellos”?

October 24, 2016 by Staff News Writer

His real name is Dinier Estrada Jiménez and he is known under the alias of “ojos bellos”.

The 25-year-old man was was sentenced to 33 years in prison in 2015 for the death of a 12-year-old girl that occurred in 2010, when the little one was killed in the middle of a gunfight in which Estrada participated.

Despite his sentence of 33 years in jail, Estrada Jiménez left La Reforma after an appeal which ruled his trial as “ineffective” and a new one was demanded. He did not receive any order of preventive custody.

“Ojos Bellos” is recognized in the area of Limón for his criminal activities, including supposedly hired killers, drug trafficking and robbery.

Today, the criminal was arrested for a series of six crimes in various parts of the country, including the murdered of attorney Roy Ching. The man is also related to the shootings occurred in Cieneguita de Limón earlier this month (though he was not arrested for that particular case).
