A bill aims to change Article 62 of the Law against Corruption and Illicit Enrichment in the Civil Service

January 24, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Frente Amplio presented a bill so corruption crimes are not subject to statutory limitations.

It is a reform to Article 62 of the Law against Corruption and Illicit Enrichment in the Civil Service. Its goal is to establish that the passage of time does not guarantee criminal impunity for people accused of corruption.

If the initiative succeeds, corruption crimes and others provided in that law will be judged at any time.

According to legislator Patricia Mora, promoter of the project, corruption crimes are a cancer that undermines people’s credibility and confidence in democratic institutions.
