A bill aims to protect cyclists in Costa Rica

January 31, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Legislator José Ramírez, from Frente Amplio, urged the early adoption of a bill that aims to strengthen the safety of cyclists in the country.

The legislator also asked the Executive Power to convene the extraordinary sessions of Congress to read the Promotion of Safety and Cycling Mobility Law, since three cyclists died on January 29th at Curridabat.

The proposal aims to strengthen the use of the bicycle as a means of alternative mobility and it would establish a legal framework to guarantee the safety and road capacity in cities and communities when cycling.
