A Canadian citizen wasn’t allowed to enter The United States

March 7, 2017 by Staff News Writer

A ban on a Canadian citizen to enter the United States sparked controversy in Canada’s parliament, where the opposition blamed the silence of Justin Trudeau’s administration regarding President Donald Trump’s immigration policy.

A 30-year-old Canadian, who is used to traveling to the United States, was rejected last Sunday at the border on the pretext that she had no visa and she was interrogated for 6 hours.

Canadians do not need a visa to enter the United States, a situation confirmed by the US embassy to Canada.

New Democratic Party (NDP) leader Thomas Mulcair called on Prime Minister Trudeau to take a stand against the American racist policy.

The lady lives in Montreal, she was born in Canada and her parents are Indians.

Trudeau responded that his government would work along with the US administration to ensure that borders are a place where Canadians, goods and services can be in transit in a fast and efficient way.
