A judge, who was involved in a case of corruption, goes free with precautionary measures

November 17, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Judge Pérez, involved in a case of alleged corruption at the Judiciary, was released after a change in the injunction against him.

Pérez received 3 months in pre-trial detention, for apparently granting benefits to defendants in criminal cases. The official had the collaboration 2 assistant attorneys from the Criminal Court of San José and a lawyer to commit crimes.

Although he would have participated in 3 of the cases investigated, Pérez was the only one in custody.

Pérez, the two assistant attorneys and the lawyer were arrested on October 27th, as suspects of interceding in criminal cases to favor defendants in exchange of great amounts of money.
