A little relief: three lanes on La Platina

March 20, 2017 by Staff News Writer

On Monday morning, and after several months of waiting, the authorities of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) cleared three lanes on La Platina Bridge, on route 1, for all vehicles, except those with heavy cargo.

The lanes will be enabled in two schedules:
– From 12:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. there will be two lanes with towards San José and one towards Alajuela.
– From 12:00 noon and until midnight it will be the opposite: two lanes to Alajuela and one to San José.

The MOPT has not yet given a specific date to enable the six lanes of the bridge Alfredo González Flores but with these three they expect to reduce traffic jams.

For now, the restriction of heavy vehicles is maintained, which must comply with a previously established measure by decree, which is unrelated to current jobs.
