A new victim from Cinchona’s tragedy

The tragedy of Cinchona claimed its 14th victim. It was confirmed by Yomaira Méndez, from Heredia Hospital. Authorities informed that the new victim was Zulay Villalobos.

Priscilla Balmaceda, assistant physician from the medical direction of San Vicente de Paul Hospital, stated that Villalobos had severe lesions in her abdomen and thorax. She died at the Eergency Service after being transferred from San Carlos Hospital on October 22nd.

Last Thursday, a group of pensioned workers from the National University (UNA) was traveling in a bus to Maleku indigenous reserve when, near El Codo del Diablo (the Devil’s ebow), the vehicle had a mechanical failure and fell into the cliff.

11 people died in the place and another one person died in San Carlos Hospital.
