Unexpected and upfront. That’s how hundreds of gifts will arrive to downtown San José on Wednesday December 21st.

You can find books that will be “released” so that book lovers can take and read them in España and Morazán parks.

All books will be wrapped and they’ll even have some additional details,

as if they were early Christmas gifts to be found in the street,”

said the organizers in a press release.

This initiative is part of a worldwide movement of liberation of books, organized in Costa Rica by the digital platform “Public Parking”, dedicated to culture in San José, with the collaboration of other companies.

The main idea of the activity is that people will return to the habit of reading and that reading can be available to everyone,”

added the document.

On the other hand, the organizers intend to remember that the capital offers spaces to read as parks, cafes, plazas, among others.

If you are interested in this initiative, you can find more details on Public Parking’s Facebook page.
