Aloe vera, a weapon against gastric diseases

June 26, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Aloe vera offers multiple health benefits. Since ancient times, it has been used for healing purposes, especially for skin conditions such as burns, wounds or infections. Likewise, the cosmetic industry has used its qualities to offer products based on this plant for the hair and skin care.

However, its benefits are not limited to external uses. The popular “miracle plant” contains anti-inflammatory substances called phytosterols that, when consumed, allow to treat various gastric and digestive ailments.

Alonso Vega, surgeon and naturalist at the Bethesda Natural Clinic, explains that consuming aloe vera refreshes, deflates and restores the digestive tract, helping to treat fairly common problems such as gastritis, reflux and heartburn.

Consumption of aloe promotes healing of the gastrointestinal tract, fights ulcers and helps cleanse the bowel, restoring fluid levels in the colon and helping with the repair of millions of cells that are replaced daily in this organ.

The natural components of Aloe vera are very beneficial to health. You can consume a glass every day and combine it with natural fruits like papaya, “

explains Vega.

The expert in natural medicine recommends consuming the gel of the plant and avoiding the green shell, because it could irritate the stomach and worsen the diseases.

Another problem that can be treated with this plant is constipation, as it also works as a natural laxative.

In addition, aloe strengthens the intestinal mucus and promotes absorption of nutrients, which makes it an ingredient worth incorporating into a healthy diet.
