Amazon.com announced its plan to hire 1,500 people to perform full-time jobs to support the expansion of operations at its headquarters in Heredia and Calle Blancos. The company requires staff on areas such as customer service, management, finance, business support and software development, among others.

Amazon’s customer service center has been operating in Costa Rica since 2008 and it has found highly-qualified talent in the country,

declared Alejandro Filloy, General Manager of Amazon in Costa Rica.

Jorge Sequeira, director-general of CINDE, stated that this announcement confirms the dynamism of this sector and the many opportunities the country has to drive its development beyond the current level.

According to the company, full-time employees receive competitive wages and a work package that includes private and life insurance, transportation and maternity and health benefits.
