Ambassador appointed by Guaidó presents credentials in Costa Rica

February 14, 2019 by Staff News Writer

On Wednesday night, María Faría, ambassador of Venezuela in Costa Rica appointed by the self-proclaimed president Juan Guaidó presented her diplomatic credentials in the Presidential House.

Faría indicated through her official Twitter account:

In the name of President Juan Guaidó and the community of Venezuelans in Costa Rica, we appreciate the willingness of the Costa Rican government to accompany us in the conquest of democracy in our beloved country. #13F”

The formal ceremony took place after Faría was announced as diplomatic representative in Costa Rica by the National Assembly of Venezuela, headed by Guaidó, on January 29th.

The inauguration of Guaidó occurred during an opposition march, followed by more protests and riots that left some 40 dead and at least 850 arrested, according to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
