American met his murderer in a bar

July 5, 2018 by Staff News Writer

William Nearhoff spent some time in a bar with a woman who is suspected of robbing and killing him last Sunday in Grecia.

The preliminary report of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) indicates that the woman apparently arrived with the 70-year-old victim to the apartment he rented. Then she made it easier for another suspect to enter and steal different appliances and cash.

The owners of the apartment entered the premises on Monday because the radio had been on at high volume for more than eight hours. They found the American with tied hands and feet and with a lethal blow to the head.

For this crime, the judicial police arrested two people in the sector of Sarchí: a 29-year-old woman named Jiménez, and a 30-year-old man named Montoya. According to Walter Espinoza, director of the OIJ, three people participated in the crime, so there is still a man missing.
