Timoty Buchanan, 54, traveled to Costa Rica for his daughter’s wedding. He danced with her at the ceremony, and minutes later died of a heart attack in Patarrá.

The news was reported on Facebook by Jeni Buchanan, wife of the deceased, who is a renowned photographer based in South Carolina. She quickly point topped news pages in the North American country.

You never know when is the last time (…) He was the most beautiful soul I knew. It’ll never be the same,”

said Jeni in the social network on Monday.

The woman even published a picture with her husband just minutes after the wedding started.

I did not know that only hours later I would lose him,”

said the widow.

For many years, Buchanan was a chief police in York County, South Carolina. He devoted 19 years to criminal investigation, but recently focused on forensic examinations and computer crimes.

Sources close to the family launched a fundraising campaign through GoFundMe platform to help with the transfer of the body and other expenses.

The initiative was conceived by Jenn Lewis, a friend of Buchanan, who said that Jeni and her children are the most loving people she has ever known.

Timothy’s funeral will be held in the coming days in his home country.
