ANDE rejects agreement and will continue protesting

November 30, 2018 by Staff News Writer

After 81 days on strike and an agreement on the table between the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) and the union unit, the National Association of Educators (ANDE) rejected the draft and will remain in protest.

ANDE, union with the largest number of affiliates, said that 58.58% of them voted against the proposal, while 41.42% voted in favor of the draft.

The Costa Rican Education Workers Union (SEC), on the other hand, decided to depose the movement, with 291 votes in favor and 250 against.

The Association of Teachers of Secondary Education (APSE) said they are still in consultation.
