Antonio Álvarez Desanti’s different opinions on PLN

March 7, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Antonio Álvarez Desanti made declarations before the internal assembly of Partido de Liberación Nacional.

He announced a national broadcast by former president Óscar Arias, whose support Alvarez has boasted about.

However, it was not always like that. In 2004, when Álvarez disowned the PLN, he made some denounciations that made people doubt the Party and Arias’ uprightness and transparency.

What have changed in the last years?

Electoral processes tend to divide us and provoke attacks. to answer that question, we need a context. If there something I have learned in life is that we must leave behind the attacks, turn the page and think of the future,

declared Ávarez.

In 2008, Álvarez returned to PLN. In 2012, when Johnny Araya joined the party, Álvarez served as his campaign leader until 2014, when Araya decided to leave the election process.

This year, Álvarez said that leaving PLN had been “a mistake” and after understanding that mistake, he decided to rejoin the party.
