ARESEP approved new taxi fares

August 26, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The Regulatory Authority for Public Services (ARESEP) updated taxi rates based on the operating costs of that service. The new prices involve an increase of 5 colones on the amount of service startup, 30 colones for waiting for the person and 45 colones for delays.

Each six months, ARESEP checks wage costs, fuel costs, exchange rates and fees that have to be paid by taxi owners. This price update includes increases in rates for those taxis that serve in San Juan SantamarĂa International Airport. The approved tariffs will come into force a day after their publication in La Gaceta.
