ASVO is looking for volunteers

The Association of Volunteers for Protected Areas Service (ASVO) will open a recruitment process during this month, for those who want to volunteer in the conservation of protected areas.

The association is looking for people who are over 18 years old, willing to attend at least one tour per month, people who are committed to the cause and have environmental awareness.

As part of their functions, volunteers collaborate in the maintenance of protected areas, carry out patrols in the park to avoid environmental crimes, contribute to the research part in the monitoring of flora and fauna, participate in the mitigation and prevention of forest fires, Among other tasks.

That is why, when recruited as volunteers, people go through an induction and training process in which they are prepared so that they can work almost like a park ranger.

Those who are interested in signing up as volunteers, can go on March 16th at 5:00 pm to the premises of the Federation of Social Organizations, in Barrio Amón.

As part of the requirements, it is necessary to present 2 letters of recommendation, identification card and criminal records.

This process is carried out by the association every year in order to recruit volunteers to expand its work team, and have about 120 volunteers, out of whom about 35 are active.
