Attention! There will be closures and detours near Garantías Sociales

June 19, 2019 by Staff News Writer

The National Council of Roads (Conavi) and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) announced that from June 19th to 24th there will be closures and night detours at the roundabout in Garantías Sociales, where a new viaduct is built.

The measures will apply between 9:00 pm and 5:00 am with the objective of extending asphalt mix to consolidate the progress of the project, which requires an investment of $ 17.6 million for a six-lane viaduct, three per direction, and will impact 860 meters of the Circunvalación highway, in its eastern sector. Of that extension, the viaduct will occupy 500 meters.

The execution contract, with resources from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE), is under the responsibility of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) -the executing entity of the project- and the MECO company, a construction firm.

The works are planned to be developed throughout this year.
