onlineauction_300x234Dear Embassy Community,

Auction Sale of U.S. government property will start on January 13, at 08:00 A.M., and close on January 19, at 04:00 P.M.  We have a wide selection of items including vehicles, residential furniture, and appliances.  The auction is open to all American employees and Locally Employed staff, except for when the Department and Federal Government’s regulations prohibit participation.

How to participate:  You can register/create a user’s account with the online auctioneer, Rematico.  All items are listed under “Stores”, Embajada USA, and can also be viewed in the main page.  All prices are in Colones and do not include taxes and other fees.  You will be able to physically inspect the condition of items on January 17 and 18 from 08:30 AM to 12:00 noon, and 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 PM.  Vehicles and motorbikes will be parked at the U.S. Embassy outside parking lot.  Furniture & Appliances can be inspected at Rematico’s warehouse, 1 KM west of Embassy, 200 meters south of Maria Reina Church, Warehouse # 4.

Winners of bids:  Rematico representatives will officially notify you if you are the winner. You have up to two days to make payment by credit card or bank deposit for furniture and appliances items.  For vehicles and motorbikes, winners have up to eight days.

The highest bidder on a vehicle or motorbike:  If you have U.S. diplomatic accreditation in the country and qualify for the service, our Customs & Shipping office will assist with the exoneration process and getting the license plates.  For all our LE employees, Customs & Shipping will direct you to the appropriate lawyer/office to complete the vehicle title transfer and pay taxes and associated fees.

Rematico will notify you of the date to pick up the purchased items.

Enjoy bidding and winning.
