Authorities discussed about the inclusion of technology in the education process

November 18, 2016 by Staff News Writer

How to include technology in the education process? Can it effectively work? This was one of the topics discussed in the Initial and Continuing Teacher Training in the use of ICT (Information and communications technology) Forum.

The activity included the participation of Colombian Martha Castellanos, an expert in the use of ICT for education, and it was organized by the Directorate of Technological Resources from the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) and Fundación Telefónica Costa Rica.

Castellanos stated that if the adequate resources are used, there are some subjects, such as Math, that people can take better advantage of. In addition, she declared that their goal is to analyze international trends on the use and impact of ICT if teachers have the necessary training to correctly apply them.

Karla Salguero, Director of Technology Resources from the MEP, informed that the institution is working on a large project to update teacher regarding the use of technology: The National Program on Mobile Technologies.
