Authorities investigate alleged incursion of Nicaraguan army in Costa Rica

The Costa Rican authorities investigate an alleged incursion of the Nicaraguan army into Costa Rican territory that would have ended with the death of a man from the neighboring country.

According to the information handled by the Ministry of Public Security, the incident would have occurred on Monday at around 12:30 pm in the Pocosol district of San Carlos, in a place called Pueblo Nuevo, in Calle Chinchilla.

Apparently, the now deceased man of Nicaraguan origin was persecuted by members of the Nicaraguan army, witnesses said. According to the Ministry of Security, the fact must be clarified because the person may have been injured from Nicaraguan territory or was injured in this territory and died.

Public Force personnel have already moved to the site and corroborated information about a dead person.

Foreign Minister a.í, Lorena Aguilar, said authorities are investigating the case.
