Authorities rescued a small sea lion in Las Baulas Marine Park

May 21, 2019 by Staff News Writer

Officials of the Las Baulas National Marine Park, together with local collaborators, rescued a sea lion within the park’s boundaries in the vicinity of Puntarenas on Sunday afternoon, reported the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC).

Given its health conditions, we proceeded to capture it and coordinate with the authorities for his transfer and medical attention,”

they added in the publication made by SINAC on Facebook.

The attention of the animal came at the right moment when a group of people alerted environmental authorities that this species was among the rocks so they came to its aid with a large cage for further evaluation.
