Avianca suspends flights to New York and New Jersey

January 4, 2018 by Staff News Writer

The airline Avianca announced on Wednesday the suspension of flights to and from New York and New Jersey, due to the winter storm Grayson on the east coast of the United States.

The natural phenomenon has caused the reduction of visibility in the airports of the area, as well as the increase of gusts of wind and snow, so air operations are limited.

Avianca suspended the flights scheduled for January 3rd and 4th from and to the John F. Kennedy International Airport and Liberty International Airport in Newark. This affects the flights 670 and 671 that have as origin and destination Juan Santamaría International Airport.

The passengers are being contacted by Avianca to offer their rearrangement, according to flight availability.

Those who have reservations to travel between January 3rd and 5th to both destinations, may make changes in travel date, without penalty payment to fly until one month after these dates. Travelers who desist from taking the flight may request a refund. Affected travelers may also make route changes to Boston and Washington without penalty, in order to facilitate their transfer to the United States.
