Balean Canadian tourist in assault on Ballena Bay

Crime hits foreign tourism once again. This time, the victim was a Canadian man. The events occurred at 7:55 pm on Sunday at the Ballena Bay of Uvita, in Osa de Puntarenas.

According to police sources, the foreigner named Aaegaard was approached by two subjects who shot him in the right ankle to steal documents, passport and other belongings, including several bank cards.

After committing the assault, the criminals fled in a white car, while the foreigner was referred to Tomas Casas Hospital in Ciudad Cortés where he is reported stable.

The case was taken over by the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ).
