Be a hero: donate blood

June 13, 2016 by Staff News Writer

If you’d like to save lives, you can take part in the blood donation campaign on Tuesday June, 14th in Alajuela.

The activity will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Lucia University.

According to data from the National Blood Bank, a single donation could save up to 4 lives, so the contribution of each person is valuable to cope with emergency situations.

Dr. Danny Cabezas Garita, from the National Blood Bank, said that

the blood increases life expectancy and quality of life in patients with deadly diseases, and it’s an essential part in medical and surgical procedures, maternal and child care, and cases such as transplants and medical emergencies, which is why it is so important to always keep active reserves.”
