Beware! Alajuela-San José road will be closed at 2pm

Today, at rush hour, the trusses of one of the Virilla Bridge’s new rail, in General Cañas highway, will be moved to the place, forcing the closure of Alajuela-San José road.

The closure will take place from 2 pm to 4 pm, from the junction of EPA in Belén for heavy trucks, while light vehicles and buses will continue through Conservatorio Castella exit, as informed by Hugo Zúñiga, from the National Roads Council.

On one hand, heavy trucks will continue through Real Cariari, Cenada, Barreal, until Lagunilla and then to La Valencia to retake
Juan Pablo II bridge. On the other hand, light trucks will go through Lagunilla. From there, they will continue through La Valencia to head towards Juan Pablo II bridge. route 27, San José-Caldera, is another travel option.

Since it is a diurnal closure, authorities urge people to respect these times. As a result, people should not to go through the area or they can do it do it before of after the closure time.
