Beware of this new scam!

January 30, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The Ministry of Public Security warned about a new scam used by criminals to defraud people. It is used against the deaf-mute community, which has filed a complaint on three occasions.

Scammers are locating people with this disability and they are offering them to be part of a program to sell food and drinks and earn a great amount of money.

However, to enter and obtain the benefits, people must contribute with $ 600 dollars .

It has already been reported that the victims claimed not to have the money and the individuals proposed to accompany them to obtain a credit card, and once they have it, they provide the requested amount of money.

Finally, once the money has been delivered, the victimizer assures that he/she will contact them, which never happens.
