Beware! San José criminals are looking for new victims!

Criminals from San José plan to move to Palmares, or other places where there are popular festivities, to steal people’s belongings such as cellphones, wallets or money.

In the case of Palmares festivities, the most popular of the country, the Public Force, the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) and the Public Prosecutor’s Office allowed to anticipate some facts and to remove from the the area those suspects of being members of these gangs.

Rándall Picado, regional chief of the Alajuela Public Force, explained that they individualized and put faces on various criminal structures.

These subjects would also be frequent visitors of celebrations in Zapote, San José and other rural areas, where they are looking for victims.

In the case of the celebrations in Palmares, the Public Force is using a great amount of officers. In addition, other police forces keep undercover agents, specialized in robberies and burglaries.
