Bomb that forced the suspension of activity

September 6, 2019 by Staff News Writer

The Public Force carries out a search operation for a bomb alert located inside the facilities of the Legislative Assembly in Cuesta de Moras. This was confirmed by the same executive director of Congress, Antonio Ayales.

The Ministry of Public Security informed us that we better suspend all activities because there was a bomb alert. A review of all the facilities was made, but he found nothing,”

reported Ayales.

The Assembly had an agenda for September 5th, Children’s Day, an activity for the little ones, where the organizer and legislator Harllan Hoepelman, from the independent New Republic block, were authorized to install an inflatable playground in the courtyard of the Zion building.

In addition, Hoepelman asked the Municipality of San José to use the Boulevard of Congress.

However, the Executive Director of Congress did not specify the place where the explosive device was allegedly placed.

In addition, the official said that investigations are still ongoing in order to completely rule out a threat that endangers people’s lives.

In previous days, the buildings of the headquarters of the Congress have been the subject of controversy after several attempts at bombs inside the parliamentary structures.
