Bus stop donated by APM Terminals was destroyed

October 31, 2016 by Staff News Writer

On the early morning of October 27th, Cuba Creek’s bus stop in Limón was the victim of vandalism.

The structure was made out of a container and was donated by APM Terminal.

Apparently, the structure was lifted and dragged several meters towards the shore using heavy machinery.  It destroyed part of the roof and the container structure,“

stated Freddy Serrano, a spokesman for APM Terminals.

The structure was part of the Ministry of Education contest “My Bus stop, my community,” In which the children from the area should decorate each bus stop. Now the children from Cuba Creek are not going to be able to participate in the contest.

APM Terminals spokesman explained that the structures belong to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and so far the company has not decided whether to repair the bus stop or not.
