“Buy American, Hire American” is Donald Trump’s new slogan

April 19, 2017 by Staff News Writer

“Buy American, Hire American” is Donald Trump’s new slogan.

The American president signed a decree to reform the visa system for qualified workers, but it is limited.

Together we will do everything we can to make sure that more products have these wonderful words: Made in the USA,

he stated in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Trump aims to encourage the modification of the famous H-1B visas, which is very appreciated by firms specializing in new technologies, with the argument of fighting “fraud and abuse”.

These limited-duration work permits for scientists, engineers and computer analysts help numerous Indian programmers to enter the country. The United States delivers about 85,000 working visas every year.

The decree orders relevant departments (Labor, Justice, Internal Security, State) to fight fraud and that the H-1B program regain its initial objective: to give visas to the most qualified applicants.

“Jobs must be offered to American workers first,” declared president Trump.

However, Trump cannot simply modify the number of granted visas since it needs an extensive reform by the Congress.

In addition, Trump mentioned the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA ) once again: he said that it was “a complete disaster for the United States .” and he threatened that he will make big changes, or they will get rid of it forever.
