Camera caught beautiful puma in Rincón de la Vieja park

June 21, 2017 by Staff News Writer

A trap camera of a man named Javier Elizondo, captured images of a puma walking in daylight in Rincón de la Vieja National Park.

The shots were taken on June 9th in the morning and the camera even caught the animal in front of the lens. Elizondo shared the images through his Facebook profile.

There is a relationship between a cat and a waterfall. I always see the prints, but until recently I started a project of trap cameras to watch them. This male puma was caught by one of my cameras walking in daylight in Rincón de la Vieja,”

said the young man.

Elizondo celebrated that there are still wild felines in the mountains of Costa Rica and that the forest of Rincón de la Vieja is protected and in good conditions.

It is not the first time that a camera captures these animals walking freely in Costa Rican sectors. These felines have also been seen in Corcovado.
