March 22, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Luis Alfredo Mora

A campaign seeks to promote the inclusion of people with Down syndrome in Costa Rican society and open up more job opportunities for them.

The #NoVeoDiferencias (I see no differences) initiative uses videos to show five people with Down syndrome taking pictures in different places of San José, in order to demonstrate that they see the world the same way any another person does.

Raquel Garro is a person with Down syndrome. The doors of Payless Rent A Car were opened to give her a job opportunity that she enjoys.

Luis Alfredo Mora works for the company EY, with the special mission to recycle paper. He combines his work with his talent with the flute.

According to Johanna Castro, executive director of the Fundation Yo Puedo ¿y vos? (I can, can you?) Said that the country has opened to provide more spaces for this population and the result is that 72 people with Down syndrome now have a job.
