CCSS continues negotiating with universities

July 7, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The Caja Costarricense del Seguro Social (CCSS) will insist on hiring an outside agency to be responsible for making and applying the test for final year, medicine students so that they can opt for an internship in public hospitals in Costa Rica.

On July, 6th, CCSS’ executive chief, María del Rocío Sáenz, said that despite private universities and Costa Rica University’s refusal to accept this option, the institution will continue the negociations to convince them of the advantages of this measure.

Sáenz added that so far the institution has not received any formal announcement from the universities and that the CCSS wants to guarantee students’ academic quality before starting the internship.
