Cementazo in videos: the route of $30 million

December 13, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Every week, and even every day, new information about the cement scandal emerges. The cementazo case is one of the most notorious cases of corruption in the history of Costa Rica. An investigation by CRHoy.com revealed possible irregularities, both in the process of banking procedures and in the entry of cement into the country.

Sinocem China reported that around 4,500 million colones, more than a quarter of the loan, returned to Bolaños accounts. In this video we show you the plot that Juan Carlos Bolaños, currently in prison, created to set up his business and divert funds from the Bank of Costa Rica.

From 2011 to 2016, Juan Carlos Bolaños and Dai Wuping – who have a relationship through the business development of Bolaños – created five paper companies in Panama and Hong Kong.
