Central Bank announces macroeconomic program

December 22, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Despite having until the last day of January to present the macroeconomic program for the period 2017-2018, the Central Bank announced it on Wednesday afternoon.

The document includes forecasts on the behavior of the main variables of the country, as inflation and output growth.

It also specifies targets in monetary policy, and estimates on the evolution of private sector credits in colones and dollars.

The document also lists the risks faced by the economy during the period 2017-2018.

The presentation will be in charge of Olivier Castro, president of the Bank, and Eduardo Prado, manager of the entity.

In the last decade, authorities of the Monetary Authority have always waited until the end of January to share the macroeconomic program of the country.
