Chickpeas, squashes, tuna and pate will be more expensive starting this Thursday

April 18, 2019 by Staff News Writer

Products with chickpeas, pumpkins, light custard, wholemeal bread and tuna in water will be more expensive as of this Holy Thursday.

These are the 30 products that were excluded from the Basic Tax Basket, after the decree was published.

Rafael González, tax specialist at Grant Thornton, explained that these products were exempt for a long time, but from tomorrow they will have a tax of 13%

The definition of the products considered in the decree that is about to be published was jointly defined by the Treasury and MEIC, using as a basis the National Household Income and Expenditure Survey, prepared by the National Institute of Statistics and Census.
