Christiana Figueres will be an ambassador on a special mission

According to Foreign Affairs Minister, Manuel González, the government will appoint Christiana Figueres, a Costa Rican candidate for the General Secretariat of the United Nations (UN) as ambassador on a special mission to facilitate the promotion of their aspirations abroad.

This was announced after delivering the Paris Agreement, a global initiative against climate change, to the Legislature.

The minister explained that the appointment will allow her to afford trips abroad to promote her candidacy and accompany him on official tours with that intention.

González said that resources to finance Figueres’ candidacy come from the Foreign Policy of the Chancellery and that it will be “modest and limited”.
