Classes will start on February 6th

January 27, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Although the date had been confirmed, the working union’s call for a trike threatened the start of classes: union leaders declared that they would demonstrate on February 6th if the government did not eliminate the Public Employment project from the Legislative Assembly.

However, the government announced that it decided to remove this project, as well as the tax one. In addition, it will present a new proposal to the legislators.

We will officially announce the cancellation of the strike next week when everything is fully confirmed,

said Gilberto Cascante, secretary general of the Educators Association (ANDE).

In addition, the MEP indicated that it will not delay the beginning of the school year for the works on the bridge over Virilla River, better known as the La Platina, on the General Cañas highway, as Carlos Villalta, Minister of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) had stated.
