CNE declares green and yellow alerts due to tropical wave

The effects of tropical wave number 24 made the National Emergency Commission (CNE) declare green and yellow alerts in various parts of the country.

The green alert goes to the Central Valley and North Pacific; while the yellow one is for the North Zone, Caribbean, Central Pacific and South.

Since last night we have been experiencing heavy rains especially in the North Zone and in the Caribbean of the country and today we woke up with rains in the Central Valley and this phenomenon would be expected to evolve and affect the Pacific Zone. Given the accumulated rainfall, we have established a yellow alert to the risk of flooding and landslides(…),”

said Alexander Solis, President of the CNE.
