Coast guards rescued injured tourist

A young man identified as 29-year-old Yilvin Navarrete practiced a water sport at Playa Dantita, Cabo Velas district of Santa Cruz Guanacaste, when he injure his left ankle. The Coast Guard officers immediately went to the place and assisted the subject.

The man was transferred aboard the vessel GC 32-2 to the Coastguard Station of Flamingo, because he could not be extracted by land to provide first aid, since there was no access to the site where the tourist was.

Upon arriving at the station, the Red Cross of Cartagena made the corresponding assessments and transferred Navarrete to the Hospital de la Anexión, in Nicoya. This rescue is added to the work done by the Coastguard Police as part of the Safe Holidays Operation.
