Coastguard rescue fishermen drifting in Parrita

Officials of the National Coastguard Service of the Quepos Station rescued three fishermen whose boat was drifting on Wednesday night, due to damage on the ship’s engines.

According to the incident reported to the Coast Guard, an artisanal fishing boat named Don Lisímaco was being dragged by marine currents about 12 nautical miles from Parrita, because there was getting intto the ship and the engine no longer worked. Therefore, a boat with several officers of the Coast Guard of Quepos moved to the aforementioned position.

After verifying the state of health of the fishermen, the members of the entity moved them to the dock of Quepos, where they were safe and sound. The crew members were identified as Gerardo Quesada Alvarado, Manuel Jiménez Castillo, and Michael Villegas Angulo, all of Costa Rican nationality.
