Coastguard rescued people isolated by floods in Limón

January 17, 2018 by Staff News Writer

Officers of the National Coastguard Service, along with other relief corps, helped several people who were isolated due to the floods. The operation was carried out on Monday in the province of Limón.

One of these cases took place in the town of Playa Hermosa de Mawamba, Barra del Tortuguero, where two homes flooded two houses, trapping two men. Therefore, a boat from the Coast Guard station of Barra de Pacuare moved to the area. Santos Pedro Beteta and Ronald Eladio Zúñiga were rescued there.

These people were transferred to Caño Goshen, with the aim of being taken to a shelter by personnel from the National Emergency Commission.
