Costa Rica is the most searched Central American country on Google

According to a Google study, Costa Rica is in the top 10 of the most searched Central American and Caribbean countries in 2017.

In a study conducted in 2018, Google identified that the number of tourists visiting countries in Central America and the Caribbean and global searches in Google have a direct and very high correlation, since it is greater than 0.8, in which 1.0 indicates a complete correlation.

Costa Rica ranks fourth among the most sought after countries in Central America and the Caribbean in worldwide Google searches.

This is the ranking of the most visited and searched countries of Central America and the Caribbean in Google during 2017:
1. Dominican Republic
2. Cuba
3. Jamaica
4. Costa Rica
5. Bahamas
6. Puerto Rico
7. Aruba
8. Panama
9. Belize
10. Virgin Islands

These are the top 10 sites that received more tourists in Central America and the Caribbean in 2017 (visitors who stayed at least one night):
1. Dominican Republic
2. Cuba
3. Puerto Rico
4. Costa Rica
5. Jamaica
6. Panama
7. Nicaragua
8. Guatemala
9. El Salvador
10. Bahamas
