September 7, 2016 by Staff News Writer

National company Paga Fácil is working on the development of a bus electronic payment system, allied with Mitac Information Technology Corp., a Taiwan leading company in electronic bus fare collection.

Mitac is the Taiwan pioneer company which provides electronic payment options like “Touch and go” for mass transit in their country. According to the company the benefits for the users are multiple: it is a secure system, since the user shall not carry large amount of cash, it is hygienic and save time as the card must be placed near the equipment for a few seconds and the payment will be made immediately, therefore, the bus boarding is more efficient.

Through an application (APP) the users will know where the bus is and how long they will have to wait in the bus stop, also allows online updating of the rate and new routes, providing and easy modification process for the bus companies. The system can work without internet connection, as explained Ricardo Herrara, Paga Fácil spokesman.
