February 10, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Sanitary authorities in Hong Kong are visiting Costa Rica to conduct an audit and study of the health system of Costa Rican companies interested in exporting their bovine and pork products to that market.

The study results will be related to the official service and they will be based on a monitoring of the products from the farm to the processing plants.

The key points of the audit will be product health and safety, general production information, official service, laws and regulations, biosecurity measures, good livestock practices, laboratory services, registration and export processes.

According to the Ministry of Economy, Hong Kong represents an important option for the destination of Costa Rican meat products.
