Costa Rican Legislators went shopping to Masaya market

November 21, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The Costa Rican Legislators who visited Nicaragua, invited by the National Assembly of that country, visited the Masaya handicrafts market on November 19th, heavily guarded by police, according to La Prensa newspaper.

The Legislators were greeted by Sandinista legislator Nasser Silwany.

According to the publication, they were asked if the tour is a way to legitimize the new government of Daniel Ortega and they replied that it was not.

The trip of the 12 legislators has been strongly questioned by other congressmen, the Chancellery and other political sectors.

The Legislators returned to Costa Rica on November 20th.
